Purchase Process

All those interested in a puppy or dog must complete the questionnaire. If approved the next step is the deposit. A deposit is required to secure a puppy or dog. No puppy/dog will be held without one. Due to the amount of scams and window shoppers there is no grace period in getting your deposit it. Deposits are FCFS. Once your puppy has been born you will be updated weekly via email with pictures. You will only be contacted via your preferred contact method if there is a specific question or concern the breeder has regarding your puppy or the litter. A second payment of $500 is due at 6 weeks old and is applied towards the total balance. The remainder is due before the dog is scheduled for transportation (flight nanny, cargo or ground transport) or at pick-up if picking-up in person. Home visits are limited due to the risk of viral and disease exposure to young puppies especially prior to their 7-10 day immunity period after their first vaccination. Virtual visits are encouraged and welcomed.

Additional costs: Please note transportation/shipping is an additional cost and not included in the purchase price. Any additional vetting required is also an additional fee and not included in the original purchase price (example: rabies prep for shipping to a rabies free country). Housing, kenneling, vetting, and feeding costs will be added for dogs that must stay longer and are not sent home by their pick-up dates, this includes the duration necessary for animals needing to be quarantined prior to be shipped. For more information please contact Jackson's Kennel. *We are NOT a boarding facility.*

A Companion Pet

Jackson's Kennel provides quality life-long companion pets suitable for breeding programs, service work, exhibition, performance and conformation. We do not provide animals for protection, security/patrol, guard, Schutzhund, known competitively as IGP (previously called IPO), or other non-companion pet related purposes unless preapproved via a phone interview. For more information please contact Jackson's Kennel.

Full Registration

Breeder Homes: Our puppies are available to select approved homes only. Breeding rights are only provided to exclusive approved breeder homes. We do not sell dogs for breeding-only purposes; breeding dogs must be in committed lifelong homes. We will not send a dog into a breeder home that is not committed to the dog for it's lifetime. We offer two methods for breeding rights. The first, completiopn of two free breeder education courses are required prior to breeding rights being released and an additional $1000 fee. The second method is breeder homes may obtain breeding rights for free upon completion of a title and full health testing. Once a title is earned the limited registration will be released. A title in any field and any circuit is sufficient (obedience, working, trick, agility, conformation, etc. and doesn't have to just be AKC). For more information please contact Jackson's Kennel.

Important Requirements for Health Guarantee

Crate Training: Doberman as a breed are high energy and need a lot of stimulation, exercise, and engagement. They are prone to destructive boredom and chewing. It is highly advised to crate train your dog; for its safety and for your home's safety. The leading reason for surgery in young dogs is accidental ingestion/bowel obstruction. It is required by the health guarantee for puppies to be crate trained and to be crated until fully house-broke (around 1-2 years old, but in some dogs much sooner). Crate training provides a safe space for your dog should it need it (after surgery, down for recovery, boarding at a clinic, emergency where you must leave the dog unattended for a short duration). Crating a dog should never be used as a punishment or as the primary means of containing your dog. It is intended as a training tool and as a safe space/den. A dog should not be crated beyond it's bladder/bowel capacity (for example, an 8 week old puppy should not be crated any longer than 2-3 hours while awake; he can't hold his bladder that long). Crating is a good tool to have in your "dog kit". The time to NOT crate is when you can dedicate your eyes, ears and nose to your puppy at all times.

Vaccinations: It is required the puppy receive it's full core series (at minimum the 4 core vaccines boosters and Rabies). The basic annual boosters are also required. This is to protect not only your dog but also the dogs it may come in contact with. Dogs can shed viruses and bacteria a variety of ways (pee, poop, skin contact, nasal secretions, mouth/licking, sneezing/coughing, even breathing). It's important to protect your dog so he can protect others. Puppies leave me with their core series started (if cropped they will leave with their first 2 rounds, if not cropped they will leave with their first round). They also receive their Bordetella/Kennel Cough vaccine. After 3 years old you can titer test which vaccines your dog carries immunity for and which ones will need to be repeated. Note; vaccines take between 10-21 days, depending on the vaccine, to develop an immunity in the dog's system. Reducing exposure (public walks, dog parks, pet stores, play dates, etc.) is important in ensuring your dog doesn't contract an illness while in the immunity building phase.

Regarding Claims: A qualifying diagnosis must be confirmed by two separate, unaffiliated veterinarians on two different dates. Holistic and alternative veterinarians will not be accepted. The appropriate health screenings, testing, and protocols must have been followed to ensure an accurate diagnosis. All vet care reimbursements, puppy replacements and refunds are subject to the breeder's discretion. Each claim will be assessed individually, case-by-case.

Raw Feeding Notice: No Jackson's Kennel dog should be fed a raw diet in the duration of the health guarantee unless specifically prescribed by a canine nutritionist for a specific health purpose. Raw feeding diets in any form are an immediate termination of the health guarantee. Raw diets include but are not limited to BARF, BARD, meat only, whole prey, home made, home cooked, premade fresh, premade freeze dried, premade frozen, premade refrigerated, premade dehydrated, prepackaged fresh. prepackaged raw, prepackaged other meat based raw feeding. Raw diets are not regulated by the FDA nor meet the AAFCO nutritional guidelines and testing standards and are not in the best interest of your dog's health, contrary to public misinformation.

Should the requested sex/color not be available the deposit will be transferred to any unreserved puppy or to a future litter. • The breeder decides to refund case by case
  • The reserved puppy is unfit for sale or passes away
  • The breeder decides to retain the reserved puppy for their own program

Once a dog has left Jackson's Kennel it is property of the buyer. We do not offer refunds if the buyer decides they want to return the dog without a valid medical reason as accepted under the health guarantee. It is highly advised to consider the implications a new puppy or dog will have on all aspects of your life prior to purchasing it. We do not refund for buyer's remorse or for being unhappy with the puppy or dog.  Should the buyer be displeased with their puppy Jackson's Kennel can assist in finding a new suitable home for it.

In the event a Jackson's Kennel puppy/dog is in need of being rehomed the puppy/dog is to be returned to the breeder. There is no refund or reimbursement given for returned dogs.
